Holly Howe in Conversation with Nigel Grimmer
As part of our Pride Month events, art journalist Holly Howe will lead a discussion with queer artist Nigel Grimmer about his artistic practice. This will be followed by a Q&A. Nigel is currently showing work at a nearby Maximillian Wolfgang Gallery in the show “Multitudes”, which explores the plurality of identity and is on show until 15 June. After the talk, guests are invited to join Nigel and Holly on a short walk to the gallery to see the exhibition.
Nigel Grimmer and Holly Howe
Nigel’s art explores the concept of “otherness” through photography – a medium that has been traditionally dominated by white heterosexual males – as well as video and mixed-media. His work has subverted the concept of traditional “family albums”, as well as exploring topics such as social media and dating apps. Through his art, Grimmer aims to question and reinterpret representations of the queer body.
